Optixcare® Eye EMS is an innovation in Veterinary Ophthalmology: quickly promotes corneal healing and reduces discomfort.
+ Recommended Use

It contains a RGTA® exclusive regenerative technology that quickly promotes corneal healing by providing an extra-cellular matrix substitute that is resistant to degradation.
+ Directions for Use
Apply only 1 drop per affected eye every 2 days for dogs and cats. Apply 2 drops per affected eye every 2 days for horses. Daily use does not improve efficacy.
• Wait 10 minutes after administration of Optixcare® Eye EMS and before applying any other eye drops (to avoid flushing the product out of the eye).
• It is best practice to wash out the eye after a fluorescein test and prior to applying any eye drops (including Optixcare® Eye EMS).
• It is advised to conduct the fluorescein test at the earliest 48 hours after the last application of Optixcare® Eye EMS.
• Discard the open vial after application even if there are drops remaining (preservative free product product).
• Optixcare® Eye EMS is to be applied until the corneal ulcer is completely healed (in conjunction with its etiological treatment). In some severe cases, opening a second box may be necessary.
• Always administer complete courses of 5 doses.
+ Key Ingredients

+ Testimonials
"A 31-year-old Belgian gelding presented with a painful squinting eye and diagnosed with a corneal ulcer after positive fluorescein stain. He was treated with BNP ointment at ½ inch TID for 10 days; while still on treatment eye became very painful, closed, with discharge and tearing present and trauma from rubbing fly mask was suspected. Due to discharge, injected sclera and blepharitis, he was diagnosed with conjunctivitis. A fluorescein stain was unable to be done at this time due to pain so Phenylbutazone BID was started orally for pain control and antibiotic was switched to Tobrex ointment ½ inch TID.
Once pain meds were effective, 2 drops of Alcaine were placed for freezing and an eye exam was performed. Upon exam, ulcer had returned to a dime size and again, we suspected trauma from the fly mask. Aqueous flare and decreased eye pressure revealed this gelding had uveitis as well. Atropine was added BID and the horse was stabled to be protected from sun as well as more trauma. Fly mask was attempted for protection, but gelding would not keep on. Due to presence of ulcer, a topical steroid could not be added to treat uveitis. Optixcare® Eye EMS was added to aid in the treatment of the ulcer. At this point, ulcer was visible to the naked eye so no fluorescein test was needed.
The Optixcare® Eye EMS was applied days 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9. Noticeable changes were noted after the 3rd treatment of Optixcare® Eye EMS and by the 4th treatment ulcer was barely visible. The last treatment of Optixcare® Eye EMS on day 9 showed the ulcer healed via fluorescein stain. A small scar was present. At this time treatment was switched from Tobrex to Tobradex to treat uveitis and scar, Atropine 2 drops continued BID and Phenylbutazone was weaned to every other day as pain was diminished. After 1 dose of Tobradex the small scar disappeared and treatment of uveitis will continue for at least 2 weeks depending on continued response to medication.
In conclusion, Optixcare® Eye EMS aided in the treatment and hastened the healing process which in turn enabled us to treat the uveitis quicker."

"For many of our slow to heal corneal ulcers, we have used serum drop. In the last 2 months, we have been able to offer Optixcare Eye EMS with a treatment frequency of every other day. The clients have really appreciated the decrease in dosing frequency, have found the product easy to use and not too cost prohibitive for the convenience. The patients have varied from a 7 year old French Bulldog to a 11 year old Golden Retriever. In all the above cases, the diagnosis was corneal ulcers with some being indolent corneal ulcers. We have seen resolution of the ulcers in all cases."

"I originally intended to use Optixcare Eye EMS for deep corneal ulcers only. But since I introduced it as a part of my protocol, every corneal ulcer I have treated, regardless of depth, has been completely healed within a week. I do not get complacent with eye problems and I use everything at my disposal."
